The following photos show a crankshaft that experienced a broken crankshaft counterweight blade 80 hours after a propstrike incident in the early 1980s.
This incident prompted Blueprint to perform a study on propstrike stresses which was submitted to the insurance companies. Based on Blueprint’s study, insurance companies agreed to cover propstrike teardown inspections.
