COMPONENT PREPARATION
Engine components are hand masked and painted before assembly which adds a personal work of art appearance for a Blueprint engine. Powder Coating is available for Rocker Covers, Pushrod Tubes & Intake Pipes.

ENGINE ASSEMBLY
The engine final assembly is where our experience and attention to detail is put to work assuring that each and every step is carefully performed meeting and exceeding mandatory new parts replacement and conforming to exact factory New Limits specifications. As a small shop, Blueprint’s team of experienced technicians are able to personally perform each and every phase of the engine assembly to completion.
Blueprint has developed and incorporated many procedures to use in the assembly process over the years that make the difference in helping the engine achieve and maintain its safety, performance and reliability.

COMPONENT BALANCING
Pistons and Connecting Rods weighed and positioned for optimum running smoothness.

CYLINDER POWER BALANCING
Blueprint measures and positions bore volumes in the engine firing order providing a smoother running engine.

CYLINDER PRESSURE TESTING
Cylinders are pressure tested before installation to insure optimum valve/seat sealing before installation on engine.

CYLINDER BORE FLEX HONE PROCESS
Creates a plateau finish resulting in better heat dissipation (reduces cylinder wall glazing), improved lubricity, less blow-by and improved sealing surface, stabilized oil consumption. This process has been utilized in all our racing and aircraft engines for many years with excellent results.

CRANKCASE SEALING UPGRADE
On Continental and Lycoming engine crankcases, we offer special Rubber Channel Crankcase Sealing Modification which replaces Old Silk Thread Method and helps prevent leaking case halves. Note left photo shows old silk thread broken and case leaking. Right photo has upgraded modification.
